Conditioning

This was my first time taking a Saturday morning Conditioning class. It was less frenetic than the weekday classes (maybe because there were so few people) but just as tough. I was exhausted afterward. Yet I still went to. . .

Yes, crazy three-hour workout. The only thing I remember doing is back kicks, which I majorly suck at.

Krav 2

  • Level 1 chokes
  • Back kick. I still really suck at this. I can’t get the whole looking backwards thing, and also don’t go horizontal enough when kicking so that my leg goes more off to the side. Practice!
  • Shrimping. This was much harder than I expected. It’s hard to wedge in your elbow, remember to straighten your leg, and buck with your hips all at once while pushing off your other leg, which is bent. I’m going to need a lot more practice with this.

Today’s classes

Krav maga 2

  • Level 1 chokeholds – slowly with eyes closed
  • Level 1 chokeholds – regular speed with eyes open
  • Hooks – After the strike, bring the hand back to the face, drop elbow so that head is covered, back to fighting stance.
  • Front push kick – This is similar to the bladder kick except that you lift your knee higher, showing your opponent the bottom of your foot, and aim for stomach or chest. There’s the same forward action with the hips.

  • All combatants
